Two-year Master's Degree
A Swedish master's degree consists of 120 credits (Swedish högskolepoäng). One semester of full time studies equals 30 credits and the academic year consists of two semesters, autumn and spring. This means the master's programme is four semesters, or two academic years. Hence, if you started the programme on the autumn semester of 2014 you will be expected to graduate in June of 2016. By then you should fulfil the reqiurements for a Master's Degree in Social Sciences.
Possibility of One-year Master
As a programme student at Graduate School you have the possibility to change your programme into a one-year master. This should be decided early in the programme, since taking a one-year master's programme will affect your method courses during the first semester. If you are a current student wishing to learn more about this possibility, contact the Academic Advisor by telephone 046-222 31 30 or by e-mail. Contact information can be found here.
