How to apply for your Master's degree

When you are done will all your courses, it is time to apply for your Degree Certificate. At Lund University, you have to apply for your Degree Certificate yourself. The Degree Certificate will not be sent to you automatically.

How to apply

The easiest way to apply for your degree certificate is through the Student Portal. You can also download the application form from the Degree Office’s website:

At the website for the Degree Office you will find more information about the process. Note that it may take between 6-8 weeks before you receive the certificate.

Master's degree certificate (second cycle) – Information from the Degree Office

  • Only courses that are completed can be included in your degree. Please make sure grades are reported in the Student Portal.
  • If you apply for a Master's degree and your Bachelor's degree still has not been shown and accepted during the admission process, then we need to see the original copy of your diploma to confirm the requirements for your Master's degree.
  • Your certificate will be sent to the address stated in your application. If you change it after you have applied, please contact the Degree Office at examen [at] stu [dot] lu [dot] se as soon as possible.

Courses from another university?

If you have taken courses at another university in Sweden, that should be included in your degree, you should attach a transcript of records stating that you have finished this course, to your application. 

For courses taken at a university outside of Sweden, contact the faculty International Coordinator.
