Courses in Theory
Within our three interdisciplinary programmes focusing Global Studies, Development Studies and Social Studies of Gender, we offer Profile courses (SIMP) and Selective courses (SIMS). Different courses will be given in spring and in fall, so make sure you plan your studies in advance.
Entrance requirements for courses in theory
The student must have fulfilled at least 150 credits including a graded thesis for the degree of Bachelor, or a completed major, in the Social Sciences. We accept students majoring in Political Science, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Education, Social Work, Gender Studies, Media and Communication Studies, Human Geography and Development Studies.
Courses in Method and Theory of Science
Within the Faculty of Social Sciences, we offer Courses in method and theory of science (SIMM). Different courses will be given in spring and in fall, so make sure you plan your studies in advance.
Entrance requirements for courses in method and theory of science
These courses build on previous studies in Social Sciences. To be eligible for the course the student must have at least 150 credits including a graded thesis for the degree of Bachelor, or a completed major, in the Social Sciences or equivalent subject.
In addition, it is required that you have English 6/English B or the equivalent. For specific conversions, please check the Lund University admission requirements or Universityadmissions/Antagning.se's English requirements.
How to apply
Students in the Graduate School programmes in Global Studies, Development Studies and Social Studies of Gender will be automatically admitted to the profile courses of their programme but will need to apply for courses in method in the spring term as well as for selective courses in the autumn term.
Students from other programmes are asked to apply via www.antagning.se in the regular first application round. The application is usually open in September to October for the spring term and March to April for the autumn term. More information can be found here. If you are enrolled in a master programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences, you might have the possibility to apply for courses in method via your academic advisor.
