Programme overview

The Master of Science in Global Studies is an interdisciplinary social science master's programme which aims to provide the student with knowledge of globalisation, conflict and social change. This involves an understanding of theories connected to processes of globalisation and transformation as analysed through various disciplinary frameworks. The programme presents major cultural, economic, political and socio-psychological theories and concepts to enable the student to make informed, comparative analyses of how globalisation is connected to conflict and social change.

The programme is a vital base for policy makers, trainers and practitioners who work on global issues in government agencies, private firms and NGOs. It also prepares students for postgraduate studies.

Degree

After completing the Master of Science in Global Studies, the students will acquire a Degree of Master (120 credits) of Science in Global Studies, with a major in one of the following:

  • Development Studies
  • Human Geography
  • Political Science
  • Social Work
  • Social Anthropology
  • Sociology
  • Sociology of Law

The major corresponds to the major in your Bachelor's degree.
